Reuven Greenvald

Reuven Greenvald167Reuven Greenvald has been working in the field of Israel engagement for 7 years at the Jewish Agency for Israel here in North America. Currently he serves as Director of Strategic Outreach, and previously he was part of its Makom unit, which addresses the place of Israel in contemporary Jewish life.  He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, and was ordained as a rabbi by the Jewish Theological Seminary.  Following rabbinical school he worked for over twenty years as a leader in pluralistic, community day schools.   From 2002-4, Reuven was a Jerusalem Fellow at the Mandel Leadership Institute in Israel.   Reuven resides in Brooklyn Heights, and is active in two synagogues:  Congregation Beit Simchat Torah (CBST), where he is chair of the Middle East committee and sings in the chorus, and the Kane Street Synagogue, where he is a member of the Brooklyn Israel Film Festival committee and teaches in the Open Beit Midrash.  Reuven has become a Resetting the Table convener on behalf of CBST, which on its own has been working on changing the Israel conversation within the congregation, and is now excited to collaborate with RTT to bring its work to a higher level.
